The UNESCO Chair in Technologies for Development hosted by the Cooperation and Development Center (CODEV) offers a high-level platform to take part in cutting-edge discussions in the field of technologies for development, to share information and to network.
Charles presented his team's work titled Harnessing Mobile Technology in the Diagnosis of Perinatal Asphyxia which aims at developing a mobile diagnostic solution for addressing newborn mortality in resource-poor settings. This project was received with high acclaim, and with many institutions and organisations indicating interest to partner and/or collaborate.
According to Charles, the conference was a unique experience with over 300 researchers from every continent in attendance, and it provided a platform to establish networks for future collaboration and advancements in development engineering.
The conference attendance was partly sponsored by FINE Fair Trading Gmbh, an international partner of Fisher Foundation. The CEO - Andreas Hendel was also present at Tech4Dev to witness the plethora of innovative work from all over the world.
